MindMax is seeking a full-time Content Specialist to join our fully-remote team. The team member will be a savvy content marketer with at least 3 years of writing experience, specializing in creating and editing emails, landing page copy, ad copy, blogs, and social media content on behalf of MindMax and our clients in the higher education space. 

The content specialist should be a highly-creative writer and storyteller with a keen eye for detail. Other elements of the role will include monitoring and maintaining content and email calendars and working closely with the Director of Content Strategy to develop and execute content strategies for our company and our clients.

Performance Goals

  • Support the content team in defining standards and needs for content deliverables including the level of effort estimates and resources to execute
  • Optimize process for creative development including documentation of client brand requirements, audience definition, messaging, aesthetic, etc. to ensure all content and creative visuals meet and exceed client expectations
  • Create, edit, and approve content across multiple channels (email content, ad copy, landing page copy, blogs, visual designs) and facilitate inclusion of client feedback while ensuring content meets project needs and overall marketing goals
  • Foster relationships with freelance resources, including writers, graphic designers, and creative support specialists

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create content for a variety of platforms, including email broadcasts and nurture sequences, landing page copy, ad copy, blogs, and social media copy on behalf of MindMax and our clients in the higher education space
  • Proofread and edit content before publishing
  • Optimize content for SEO and SMO best practices
  • Manage content and email calendars to ensure that content remains consistent across all platforms and is executed on schedule
  • Perform content audits and determine content needs and creative assets
  • Research competitors and marketing trends to ensure that content is relevant and aligned with target audiences and overall marketing goals
  • Work with the Director of Content Strategy in developing content strategy plans for our clients
  • Manage contract resources and freelancers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across marketing, enrollment, and operations teams to identify solutions and execute marketing services on behalf of our clients


In order to be considered for and perform effectively in this position, you must have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience with at least 3 years in writing and editing
  • A portfolio of writing samples
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
  • Agency experience/dealing with multiple clients is desirable
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office, Google Suite, and project management tools are desirable
  • Knowledge of various content platforms such as social and digital media, blogs, thought leadership content, broadcast emails, and landing pages is preferred
  • Experience with marketing automation tools a plus
  • Marketing experience in higher education preferred
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or a related field
